After breakfast, explore the nearby location Ezhattumugham. Quaint and serene, the river Chalakudy at Ezhattumugham is a picture postcard coming to life – its flow punctuated by islets of greenery and boulders of all sizes and trees growing right in the middle of the gently moving water. A full-grown tree surrounded and nurtured by flowing water is a sight one cannot easily forget. And the mini waterfalls, which not only tickle your feet, but also remind you of the gentle force of water. At one point, the Chalakudy gets by the islets and boulders into seven flowing streams, and that is how Ezhattumugham (seven faces of a river) gets its name. Visitors to the museum can satiate their curiosity on various stages of tea processing, and also learn a thing or two about the production of black tea. On your way back head to Srishti TATA project. This project is a venture of Tata Global Beverages for the rehabilitation of the differently able. Take an opportunity to visit the Balaramapuram Handloom village, known as the core place for the unique production of traditional varieties of handloom textiles meant for clothe wearing style of Kerala, famous for its purity and simplicity. Learn about the skills of handloom weaving using silk and fine threads of gold and silver. In this village they produce some of the most beautiful, elegant and exquisite sarees famous across the country. Afternoon explore Napier Museum :- Napier Museum complex reveals a glimpse of Kerala’s rich cultural heritage.. Sree Chitra Art Gallery :- Sree Chitra Art Gallery here features a rare collection of paintings by Raja Ravi Varma and Roerich among others, and fascinating works from the Mughal, Rajput and Tanjore schools of art. Pause and have “one metre tea” at one of the tea stalls. Take a tuk tuk– the most popular mode of transport among the locals, stop at the Dhobi Khana (laundry station), once throbbing with activity but now a picture of slow extinction. Followed by visit to Fort Kochi, See the Chinese Fishing Nets of Cochin. The huge cantilevered Chinese Fishing Nets that drop towards the waters like over-sized hammocks have become a hallmark of Fort Kochi. Walk to the St.Francis CSI Church, the oldest European church in India built in 1503, where the Portuguese explorer Vasco de Gamawas originally buried and pass by the fine Santa Cruz Basilica.
